Vern's Basin
About Me
Hello! I'm Vern, a twenty year old trans man with autism and multiple physical disabilities. Due to my illnesses and college, I'm currently unable to hold a full-time job. So, to help support myself, I do fanfiction commissions! My main hobbies include cooking, playing Nintendo games, taking care of my pets, ect! I dabble in some Genshin and Project Sekai as well.My writing style is a balance of formality and casualty that gives a story weight while not being afraid to make things "grammatically incorrect" such as cutoff sentences for tension or illustrative purposes. I use a lot of italics to help convey my tone through my writing- when you read my work, I want the reader to easily find a concrete and endearing narrative tone with my use of these techniques. I also focus a lot on natural and smooth sounding dialog!I specialize in gay character pairings, usually mlm but also including wlw, however that's more about me being more used to the character dynamics than anything. I'm equally good at writing anal, vaginal, or any other kind of sex. As a gay trans man, I do tend to enjoy trans mlm pairings, but I can and will make anything work!Funds gained from commissions are often put toward paying my college fees. It's thanks to the generosity of the people who buy from me that I'm able to pursue my education with less financial stress. I'm very thankful to be able to make money from my writing, and it's thanks to all of you that I've made it this far :)I value being a reliable and friendly person to order from. If there's ever an issue with timing or quality of work, you will be the first to hear about it. Full refunds will also be given if I ever can't complete an order due to anything on my end.Thank you for taking the time to look at my page, and I hope you find what you're looking for. If not, you're always welcome to contact me on any of my social medias!
Commission Details
Commissions are currently open!Timeline:The time from receiving your order form and starting the commission can be around a week, depending on the speed in communication the simplicity/complications of the order. This does not apply to when the waitlist is active. From start to finish, each commission is worked on at the speed of around 750 words per day during the weekdays. I may work slower or faster due to personal situations, holidays, or other events. Any delays in your order will be communicated the moment they're discovered. Updates with pictures of the WIP will be sent at least once a week, but can be more often if requested. When a commission is done, a Google document with the finished work is sent to you. You are able to read it over and approve it yourself, requesting any final changes or details. After that, I will request the final 25% payment and post the finished work on ao3 if specified on the order.Pricing:All details of pricing can be found at the link below. While it's encouraged that you calculate the price on your own to budget your order, a price estimate will be relayed after the initial order is received and can be adjusted if needed.
Payment:Payment can be provided through PayPal, Ko-Fi Donations, or Zelle. No matter which payment method is used, 75% of the total cost must be paid upfront, with the remaining 25% given after receiving the completed commission. This is non-negotiable, and used to prevent scamming.Posting:Commissions can be posted either publicly on ao3 or privately emailed/sent to the buyer. It can also be posted anonymously on ao3. If certain content is requested, I may only be willing to post the content anonymously, and that choice is up to my decision.Extra details:I only work on a few commissions at a time. If you fill out the form and I'm currently maxxed out with other projects, you will receive a message telling you where you are on the wait list and an estimated time until your commission can be started. This is done on a first come first serve basis. My writing is never to be portrayed as anything other than my work. If it's posted anonymously or shared to you privately, at no point should it ever be passed off as anything but mine. If a work is posted anonymously and you're found to be spreading it under a name that isn't mine, the anonymity will be removed and it will be added to my regular grouping of ao3 works.Any work provided from me is never to be added to any AI databases in order to mimic mine and other author's work.Any of my personal messages or information (such as my legal name appearing when paying with certain apps) is not to be talked about or spread to other people. I take my online privacy very seriously. This same courtesy will be extended to you- no messages about your commission details or other information will ever be seen by anyone but me.
Commission Steps
Commissions are currently open!Step One:Check my prices and sample fanfictions to make sure I'm the right author for you. If I'm not in your price range or not a great fit for what you're looking for, that's perfectly fine, but please check before you start the actual commission! It's a good idea to figure out your own budget and see how many words that would get you.Step Two:Open the Google form listed on the commissions page and read over each section needed to be filled out. Then make sure you have all the information needed to fill it out, such as your pairing choice, length, and payment method!Step Three:Make sure you have a way to communicate with me. This can be my email, discord, or even tiktok/twitter DM's. All of those are available on my social media carrd page linked below! In order to keep on schedule with the agreed deadlines, please try and check these places as often as possible, and at least every 2-3 days. Delays in communication may lead to longer turn-around times than originally expected or agreed upon.
Step Four:Wait for me to contact you. Please make sure that your line of communication is open and you check it frequently, although please don't think I require immediate responses! The same goes for me- I try and check all places at least once a day, but my life and health comes before work. After being contacted, I'll either let you know I'm ready to start and ask for final details or inform you that you're being put on a wait list and what position you're in if that's the case.Step Five:When I'm ready to start your fic, I'll reach confirm any final details and pay. Your commission will not be started until the upfront payment is recieved- currently 75% of the full asking price. Remember that full refunds will be given if the order is ever canceled for something on my end of things!Step Six:Wait for your commission to be completed. Please keep your line of communication open during this time, as I send weekly updates on the progress of your fic and may ask questions about specific scenes that require your input. Estimated commission wait times can be found in the FAQ and details section of the commissions tab!Step Seven:Recieve your commissioned fanfiction and pay any remaining balance. If you're satisfied with my work, good reviews are always appreciated! Whether it's making a Twitter post tagging me or even just spreading my name around, anything helps. Word of mouth and web is the only way for me to spread my work, and any help is extremely beneficial for me.
